Find Your Own Damned Beach

jersey shore roller girls (not beer)Corona Extra: Cerveceria Modelo: Pale Lager

Tonight, I burn one, just like the Jersey Shore Roller Girls did to the River City Poe Punishers. Yes, the girls in teal rolled over the ladies from Richmond in what was a nail bitter through the final minute. Good thing they sell the GIANT 24-OUNCE CAN of Corona (with the same size lime slice) for only eight bucks. (Gail is drinking a weirdly dangerous mix-drink and Rick another Pepsi.)

Logistical note: I figure there are about 50 beers that are so ubiquitous that I can count on these beverages in a pinch, such as, say, Saturday in the Asbury Park Convention Center. Corona is…was…one of those. Light and pleasant enough to account for the sun itself, this beer is one of the more appealing standards and it deserves a place on the 5th of May, the backyard on the 4th of July, and I suppose the Jersey beach year round. Corona is best enjoyed in extreme temperature opposites (cold beer, hot weather) and enjoyed repeated over a short stretch. (Keep those ponies coming.) I don’t recommend my friend Charmaine’s version…with grenadine.

Rating: too location-specific to a unique quality rating: with the Roller Girls, a full glass; with winter approaching, 30% to the bottom.

I think you were influenced by the fishnets and rhinestone bootie gear, though you do admit this yourself. The Corona, I would say, was the perfect complement to a night of roller derby in Asbury Park.

Fishnets and rhinestone bootie gear can be VERY influential. If you don’t believe me just google “fishnets and rhinestone bootie”. I rest my case.

    My point precisely.

  4. is this a photographic essay too?
