Brown’s Whiskey Porter: Brown’s Brewing Company: Porter
I visited Delaware when George Thorogood was still a desTROYer but only saw him later when he was doing the 50 states touring, traveling by cab and only playing joints that guaranteed they were serving plenty of beer. The band was then the Delaware DesTROYers and their signature tune was One Bourbon, One Scotch, and One Beer.
So here it is New Years Day with a plate of pork and sauerkraut and a pint of Brown’s Whiskey Porter sitting in front of me. (Close enough for the song title.) There’s strong vanilla and whiskey and the oak they rode in on. A beautiful porter’s song to carry the medley too. Clean, not overwhelming, but then you can taste good pork and sauerkraut through even a nuclear waste hangover (which I don’t have, fortunately).
Is there a better way to start the new year? I think not.
editor’s note: The desTROYer configuration is on purpose, but why?
